Family Green Cards
Founder Law helps families with immigration legal services, whether you are eligible for a family green card or you’ve got a priority date and are waiting for the visa bulletin.
U.S. immigration law currently prioritizes family reunification (also referred to as family immigration). That means U.S. citizens and green-card holders (legal permanent residents) can file family petitions on behalf of close relatives to enable them to immigrate to the U.S. and join their family. U.S. citizens can also sponsor a fiancé or financée for a K-1 visa to come to the U.S. to get married.
Immediate and Non-Immediate Relatives
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) considers parents, spouses, and children under the age of 21 immediate relatives. No quotas exist for the number of green cards issued each year for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens.
However, annual quotas exist for green cards issued to those USCIS considers non-immediate relatives. These non-immediate relatives are grouped into preference categories.

We Can Help
Figuring out immigration law can be difficult, confusing, and time-consuming. The Founder Law team can help with both the green-card process and applying for a work permit. We can assist family members who are already in the United States file an adjustment of status (I-485). Alternatively, we can help individuals who are abroad through consular processing and obtaining an immigrant visa. In both cases, the end result is a green card for permanent residence.
